In an interview with GamesRadar DuckTales writer Brandon Montclare shared a few more details of the upcoming new DuckTales comic series.

The new DuckTales comic, published by Dynamite, written by Brandon Montclare and drawn by Tommaso Ronda, will see its first issue released on November 6. The series will go all the way back to 1987 and continue the story arc from the cartoon. The first five issues will focus on Uncle Scrooge and the nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie. As the new comic will go all the way back, we will miss certain characters we got to know quite well in the 2017 adaptation like Donald Duck and Della (for now).

A major change from the original cartoon, the 2017 comic series and the 2017 Disney+ show is that the main story line for the first five issues will take place in Duckburg. We all have traveled the world with Scrooge and his nephews but there are always mysteries to be found in Duckburg. While the main story line will take place in Duckburg, flashbacks will bring the gang back to Scrooge’s adventures. These flashbacks will also be done in the old eight panel grid style. The series will also feature some of the well-known antagonists of Scrooge: Magica De Spell (in issue #2) and the Beagle Boys (in issue #3)
